FAQ

Why choose GA Sports Club?

Unable to continue our success of organizing competitive leagues in 2005 because of National Service, we as budding entrepreneurs have decided to come back from the dead and start a fresh. With our full commitment and passion to this company, we are absolutely sure GA Sports Club will be a success.

We, unlike other league organizers, offer well managed league games.

By taking players’ feedbacks and suggestions on how we can improve our way of organizing future leagues, we are a company that is always looking for constant improvement to provide better service to our clients.

Ultimately, it is the passion that we have for football that motivates us to work harder for GASC. As the saying goes, with passion, hard work will pay off eventually.

General FAQ

1.) Friendly Match?
Yes. Contact us and we will arrange a friendly match at your preferred location and time. You may also bring your own opponent while we provide the football pitch and the referee. You may also choose your opponent’s strength we and we will try to match your request with our database of teams.

2.) What if it rains half-way during a match?

Because of the dangers of being struck by lightning in unfavorable weather conditions, we would advise teams to stop playing if there are signs of lighting half way in the game.

Artificial field
The game will carry on if it is being played on artificial field. Game will stop as soon as there are signs of lighting.

Normal pitch
The warden may stop the game to protect the field from potholes occurring. In such cases.
Should any of the games stop, full amount will be charged if it happens after half-time. However, only half of the match fee will be charged if the game stops before half-time.

3.) What are the consequences should a fight break out?
The Referee has the absolute right to abandon the game. Such cases would be noted and match report will be sent to us for review. GA Sports Club do not condone such acts and will not hesitate to not provide services for teams involved in fights in the future.

4.) What happens if my team mate got injured?
We will advise parties involved to take necessary precaution like wearing shin guards and drinking plenty of water. GA Sports Club will not be liable for any injury or death that happens, during and after the game.

5.) Are our Referees qualified?
Our referees are all experienced with proper qualification. We, as football players ourselves know that nothing is more important than having an impartial judge for all games where every decision matters.

League FAQ

1.) Why are there two categories of prizes offered?

Our purpose of creating a football league is to give players a platform for them to play competitively where there are prizes to be won. In this case, prizes offered by us is an incentive and motivation to teams that want to play competitively.

While the main prizes are attractive, we are offering additional prizes that can be won. This is the Fairplay prizes. They are to promote fairplay, sportsmanship and prevent negative conducts from happening.

2.) Why need to pay registration fee and deposit?
The registration fee is there to cover our administration fees and other costs that are involved.
On the other hand, the deposit is there to ensure that all teams complete the league with sportsmanship and encourage teams to not drop out of the league season. It will be refunded as match fees for the last 2 games of the league.

3.) What available leagues?
We are in the midst of planning for other timings such as Saturdays Evening League Season. Teams that are interested to join such league timings may subscribe to our contact list where we will inform you of our latest updates and happenings.

4.) Do we get to choose what kind of playing surface we get to play on?
No. However, GA Sports Club will always select the best pitches for our league games whenever we can.

5.) How do we go about postponing a match?
Once the league commence, teams that wished to postpone the following week game have to inform the organizing committee latest by Sunday 8pm. Each team is only allowed to postpone 2 league games per season. Any additional postponement of games will be charged at $100. The game would be considered a walk over and opposition team will be awarded a 3-0 win.

We gave much consideration before implementing this system. Firstly, this fee is to prevent the delayed completion of the league. It is also costs to us when teams postpone games; therefore it is also considered a form of extra administration fee. The other reason why this system is in place is also to prevent the respective opponents that teams will be facing from last minute cancellations.

6.) Can we complaint against poor Referee-ing?

Yes. There are avenues for feedbacks for players and managers alike regarding the performance of our referees. Send your feedbacks through info@goalarena.sg with the match details, date and time.

We will not hire referees who are found not to be impartial for future games.
As far as GA Sports Club is concerned, one of our core values is about fair play.

7.) What if my opponent turns up 5mins after the stipulated 20mins grace period?
The Referee may, at the moment, decide to continue play or deem the game as a walk-over. Although it is not in our interest to discipline teams, we would strongly encourage teams to observe social football etiquettes.

8.) Payment Method?
Cash /Bank Transfer for registration fee and deposit.
Cash payment to the referee must be made before the commencement of each game. An official receipt will be issued upon request.

9.) How long does a season last?
A full season with 8 / 10 teams inclusive of postponements and bad weather, usually last no more than half a year. We keep leagues short because we as amateur footballers ourselves know that it is hard to commit to a long league.
